Septodont strenghtens its commitment to the employment of people with disabilities

For several years now, Septodont has been developing a diversity policy and more specifically a disability and employment policy aiming at enabling people with disabilities to have equal access to employment opportunities and career development.

Many initiatives have been implemented, whether in the areas of awareness-raising, recruitment or retention of employees with disabilities.

Today, a new dynamic is taking shape, driven by the arrival of Pauline Malaguti, Disability Manager, in the HR team.

Pauline, what is your role?

I joined Septodont this year to strengthen and develop existing actions. With the creation of this position, Septodont confirms that disability, whether temporary or permanent, does not act as a brake on recruitment and career development within the company. My mission is to define and implement a roadmap by involving all internal and external stakeholders of our company.

What part of your job do you like the most?

I have been working on diversity and inclusion issues for a decade. I am convinced that business performance and social responsibility are closely intertwined. Working on inclusion issues, and more specifically disability issues, allows me to make the link between the business challenges of our company, the needs of our employees – especially in terms of workplace accommodation regarding their health status – and the local stakeholders in territories where Septodont is operating.

The European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities (EWPD) is an extremely important moment of the year. Why?

As its name suggests, the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities is the annual event dedicated to the occupational integration of people with disabilities. Each year, it takes place the third week of November and aims at bringing together companies, politicians, associations, civil society and, of course, jobseekers with disabilities.

The unemployment rate for people with disabilities being twice that of the French national average, it is crucial to continue the efforts to ensure access to education and employment.

This must-attend event, which is taking place this week, is also an opportunity to underline Septodont’s commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities, to encourage our employees’ participation in initiatives such as DuoDay and also to question our representations of disability at work to overcome misconceptions.
